TGIF...

After a long week of teaching classes, training clients, and leading Strength Training groups -- all while fighting the Christmas Crud, which comes complete with low grade fever, headache, sinus issues, annoying cough, and laryngitis -- I decided to take in a matinee and dinner with my DH.  I used one of my splurges tonight and had sweet potato fries with my lettuce-wrapped burger and finished with some Breyers Grasshopper Pie ice cream (I like the Mint Chocolate Chip better... now I know!).  Tune in tomorrow for Part Two of My Dietary Guidelines...

Oh, and just in case you're wondering--- we saw Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.  It was touted as a "cerebral" intrigue.  I'll say "cerebral"... and then some!  Talk about tedious.  The actors were brilliant, but the story moved as slowly as blackstrap molasses. (By the way, blackstrap molasses is an excellent source of manganese and copper. It is also a very good source of iron, calcium, potassium and magnesium. In addition, blackstrap molasses is a good source of vitamin B6 and selenium. Try it in a post-workout shake, since a simple sugar combined with your protein helps shuttle the protein into your cells for quicker muscular recovery. Nice tie-in with a health blog, don't you think?  Hee hee.)

Nice Teri. I had severe anemia as a kid and blackstrap molasses (and sauteed liver) brings back nightmares :) Thanks for reminding me. TG I don't have it anymore and frankly do not ever want to taste it again.

Teri, have you ever thought of adding some recipes to your blog? Could be fun! I subscribe to several and getting recipes is sometimes my only motivation.

p.s. I'm up to 5 lb. weights!

I'm sure I'll put them in every now and again. I also plan to post workouts and anything else that comes into my pea brain that deals with womens' health and/or fitness.

Congrats on the 5#'ers. I love this statement: "(To make a postive difference in your musculature,) Lift something heavier than your purse!" For some of us, that's a WHOLE LOT MORE than little pink dumbbells! : 0
